about

"Originally released on Not Not Fun as a tape in an edition of 100 with an appropriately burnt-out looking handmade cover. I like the opening sentence of Britt's description of it for the Not Not Fun website: "Ex-Auckland high artists Helga Fassonaki and Andrew Scott first began hammering their flux-core electronics into sustained tunnels of pale fire back in early 2006, when living down under in New Zealand’s thriving hive of free music freemasons...."

The first Metal Rouge release not to feature any Persian instruments. Listening back to it it strikes me how many of our sounds of this period were tied to specific pieces of (often faulty) equipment that we no longer own. Entire soundworlds tied to dying electronics. Ideas tethered to a sinking ship. Still one practice amp between the two of us. One of our harshest. I still like it." - Andrew
