"Ephemeroptera III was our tribute to Sonny and Linda Sharrock (who as a duo were an immense inspiration to us on many levels) and also the first piece that we released that was composed and then *improvised upon* as opposed to completely improvised from the ground on up. A Bird's Paradise makes me think of the cavernous darkened near empty spaces we played it live in: The Center For Inquiry, a giant empty warehouse downtown.... We played this piece so many times live that I distinctly remember reaching a point where I never wanted to play it again. We recorded many different versions of A Bird's Paradise - many of them usable, none of them definitive. The plan was to release several different versions of it, but for some reason this is the only one we got around to releasing. There is still a good chance the others will surface for release one day...." - Andrew

Deep, mind-bending psych. I don't know how it was put together, but it feels very organic, like early Nurse With Wound. I could see Gordon, Dilloway, and Nace sitting among a pile of junk and miles of tape, splicing together this album piece by piece. Levrikon
